In short, the FBI sent around a bunch of flyers with information about the nightclub and the gunman, which the shooter then took to the Internet in order to exploit. Kay’s mission is to kill the Visionaries, and she’s doing this by taking down the party leaders (like Colt Vahn) and making sure the Visionaries don’t find their way to the island. If you do that, the island will be a safehouse for the Visionaries. If you don’t, it will be taken over by The Evil, and it will be a bad place for the Visionaries to live in.
